Updated Coding Advice About Telehealth During The COVID-19 Emergency

By Lynette Byrnes
Senior Vice President, Practice Management Services

As new information on Telehealth is distributed to the public, we found it necessary to update our popular COVID-19 Questions & Answers document. This suggestion guide was originally compiled after an hour-long webinar with Sheppard Mullin, the legal partner for United Rheumatology, at the end of March. Based on the new guidelines by CMS, Sheppard Mullin has revisited some questions to our original document. The new guidelines are to allow clinicians to provide more services to patients via Telehealth. It also addresses a new diagnosis code and reimbursement for Telehealth services.
