Offices Experiencing Issues Submitting Claims With J Codes to United Healthcare

Offices processing claims with J Codes to United Healthcare may be experiencing problems due to a glitch in their computer software; United Rheumatology has been in contact with United Healthcare to discuss the issue.
When processing J codes, UHC’s computer system is not recognizing the NDC number and is remitting to practices that the submitted code is missing or incomplete and that a deactivated NDC number was submitted and payment cannot be processed.  The UHC reason code is M119.
UHC is aware of the problem – and that the NDC number for the J codes are accurate. UHC is working on the problem. The clearing house is asking offices not to resubmit the claims; they will resubmit them when UHC fixes the problem. United Rheumatology will continue to monitor the situation and provide follow up when the issue is resolved.
